Interface Consulting Experts Promoted to Senior Consultant
Interface Consulting International, Inc., a leading expert services firm, is pleased to announce the recent promotions of Rachel Smith, Matthew Scheps, PE, and Thomas Hetzel to senior consultant. All three have made valuable contributions to Interface Consulting’s success during their tenures, and they will take on new responsibilities as the company continues its work providing expert assistance on construction-related claims and disputes around the globe.
Rachel M. Smith
Ms. Smith, a member of the Interface Consulting staff since 2016, specializes in schedule delay analysis, cost assessment, and damage quantification for construction and engineering disputes. Her promotion speaks to her strong work ethic and dedication to delivering high-quality results for the firm’s clients. “Rachel has grown professionally and taken on increasing levels of responsibility,” said Chris Sullivan, president of Interface Consulting. “Her mechanical engineering background coupled with her nearly completed MBA has allowed her to critically analyze costs and a variety of other construction issues.” Along with her technical work, Ms. Smith has assumed an important role in Interface’s business development efforts, assisting with marketing and social media initiatives and representing the firm at various industry events.
Thomas M. Hetzel
Mr. Hetzel joined Interface in 2016 as a project consultant, quickly providing value to clients through schedule delay and labor productivity analysis as well as expert demonstrative graphics preparation. “Thomas has worked on over 30 engineering and construction claims and disputes over the past six years,” Mr. Sullivan said, “and has developed and fine-tuned his expertise in data analysis, including assessing construction damages and loss of labor productivity.” His data and document evaluation skills have been instrumental in evaluating challenging issues on a variety of large-scale capital projects. “Thomas is a key team member at Interface,” added Mr. Sullivan, “and is appreciated by our clients.”
Matthew S. Scheps, PE
Mr. Scheps, a civil engineer and licensed Professional Engineer, joined Interface in 2020, having previously worked as a project manager, project superintendent, and engineer with multiple large general contractors. His field experience has enabled him to skillfully transition to expert services work, assisting clients with complex issues related to project management, planning, procurement, and change order management on projects spanning a variety of industry sectors. “Matthew has over 10 years’ experience in the engineering and construction industry, including the last two years at Interface, where he has excelled at applying his boots-on-the-ground construction knowledge to numerous Interface projects and claims,” said Mr. Sullivan. “Our clients have benefited from his industry experience and keen insight into project execution.”
