Interface Consulting’s Marine & Offshore Expertise
Marine and offshore construction covers a wide range of structures and facilities, from wharfs and piers, to shipbuilding, to offshore platforms and pipelines. These structures are built either onshore off the water, onshore at a fabrication yard and transported offshore, or at a location away from the shore. The purpose of these projects is to provide the infrastructure for the offshore transportation of goods and services, and the production of valuable resources such as oil and gas.
Marine contractors are typically dependent on the price of oil and gas, and there is an influx in the marketplace of new contractors that do not understand the challenges and risks in the industry. There are different laws and regulatory requirements associated with offshore work, and the projects are more complex and require expensive equipment. Marine and offshore work is one of the most hazardous work environments; working on and near the water creates a challenging work environment that is highly dependent on the weather.
Interface Consulting has substantial EPC experience built on our broad background from engineering and construction to claims and litigation spanning the upstream oil and gas industry. Specializing in this industry, we are knowledgeable of the inherent difficulties of these types of projects, as well as the associated commercial, technical, and legal aspects.
