This year’s Fall Meeting, It’s Lonely at the Top: Building a Successful Team with the Owner, will be held October 4-5, 2018, at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel. There will be a First-time Attendee Welcome and Kickoff as well as a Young Lawyers Division Networking Event on Wednesday evening, October 3, and a Women’s Networking Reception and the Welcome Reception on Thursday evening. The plenary sessions on Thursday and Friday will cover various topics, including “Finding Win-Win Solutions: Successfully Anticipating and Allocating Risks in the Owner Agreements” and “Ethics session: Tackling Crime and Corruption in the Construction Industry.” Thursday’s workshops will touch on construction finance, controlled insurance programs (CIPs), concerns with representing the owner versus the contractor, and what those in the construction industry need to know about P3 transactions.
Montreal is known as a city with great history. The Forum has planned special events for attendees and guests to experience the culture of this historic, scenic city, beginning on Thursday with the “Flavours and Aromas of Old Montreal Spouse and Guest Tour.” On Friday afternoon, there will be a “City Tour of Montreal” for member attendees and their guests.
