Interface Consulting Celebrates 25 Years of ‘Getting Into Trouble’
An industry leader in construction claims and dispute resolution approaches its quarter-centuryanniversary of providing distinguished consulting services to clients.
HOUSTON, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In August, Houston-based Interface Consulting International, Inc., celebrated 25 years of“getting into trouble” on behalf of its construction and engineering industry clients involved with claims, disputes, and litigation.
Since its formative years providing consulting services to owners and contractors, Interface Consulting has expanded its client base to include attorneys, engineers, suppliers and insurers, among others, and now offers six service areas in major construction industries involved in contractual and legal disputes. Interface Consulting Founder and President Frank G. Adams, PE, attributes the firm’s continued growth to its recruitment of top engineers, many with MBAs and extensive construction backgrounds, and other consulting professionals with diverse skills, training, and experience.
“Interface Consulting has seen a substantial increase in the demand for experts with technical and financial expertise involving construction. We continue to recruit this type of consulting staff because of their ability to address contractual liability, and cause-effect relationships with associated costs,” Mr. Adams said.
Mr. Adams founded Interface Consulting in 1986, after extensive work in international project management and experience as a corporate executive for an ENR Top 100 firm. Interface Consulting initially focused on management consulting services to owners and contractors in the oil and gas sector. In 1988, the firm began growing substantially in the heavy civil and commercial building sectors with the addition of Donald G. Armstrong, PE, a former colleague of Mr. Adams and fellow executive.
By the early 90s, Interface Consulting emerged as a pioneer and leader in the construction claims consulting niche, which was enhanced by rapidly advancing computer technology that allowed for complex analysis and better presentation of Interface Consulting’s positions. Philip D. Barnard, PE, CCE, joined the firm in 1995 and enhanced the firm’s collective expertise with his experience overseeing construction for the City of Houston’s public works department. Mr. Barnard’s arrival marked an expansion into public contracting projects in the infrastructure and government building arenas.
Although still providing construction management consulting, the firm’s main line of work today focuses on providing expert assistance to clients involved in construction-related claims, disputes, litigation, and arbitration. Interface Consulting now works in diversified industry sectors on a global basis with its headquarters in Texas. Pipeline matters and international construction arbitrations have increased the firm’s recent workload and have helped alleviate some of the effects of the domestic economic recession. The firm has also seen a substantial increase in construction defect matters involving major insurers.
Mr. Adams noted, “Offering our specialized approach to claims and disputes has kept us thriving for 25 years, and we hope to keep getting into trouble another 25 years on behalf of our clients.”
